This collection is designed to help children feel better about themselves and positively cope with the many challenges they face. The short affirmations are aimed at helping children ages 8 to 13 take better care of themselves, stay safe, and move toward more balanced and healthy lives.
These daily thoughts help children see that they are special and valued people, acknowledge and further develop their own strengths, and build resiliency. The daily thoughts are based on five major messages:
The affirmations represent 10 themes: celebration, feelings, family and friends, safety, challenges/problem solving, being a kid, choices, rights, self-care, and spirituality. These themes appear regularly throughout the book, and the affirmations build on one another.
